Hangar's Rocky Horror Show

CourtesyThomas Hoebbel

It's opening weekend over at Hangar Theater and of course we just had to be there. And what it comes down to is that this dynamic cast makes a big show fit on a small stage.

The Rocky Horror Show at The Hangar Theatre, has proven its self to be a great adaption the movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Anyone that is familiar with that movie will feel right at home with this production.

I will admit going in that I had some doubts of whether or not the could pull off such a large story in such a small space, but they did. They did so with a good, dynamic cast, and clever set design. There were a few standout perfomances that I must mention.  Stephanie Koenig (Janet) play the all-American, apple pie loving, young woman gone bad perfectly, and had a voice that filled the theatre. Zachary Clause (Riff Raff) plays wounderfully physical performance. And Austin Ku (Frank-n-Furter) gives a perfomance that would make Tim Curry proud.

The only let down of the evening was how few people dressed in the appropriate garb for this show. So, if you do decide to go (and you should) dress for it, you'll be in good company.

The Rocky Horror Show is playing now through September 3rd The Hangar Theatre. Some things to look forward to:

  • An audience dance party on stage after every evening performance of Rocky Horror. Meet the cast and dance the time warp again! (Which was awesome!)

  • Audience talkbacks for cinema enthusiasts after every matinee performance (August 20, 21 and 27)

  • Rocky Horror’s closing performance (Saturday, September 3rd) will be an exclusive midnight show! (Tickets are already going fast for this amazing, late night, anything could happen performance.)

Have you seen it? What'd you think?

Yours,

littlecitybig
